SOLON, Ohio (January 10, 2012)--The appointment of Jill Whelan to vice president, corporate communications, was announced by Arthur F. Anton, president and chief executive officer of Swagelok Company. Whelan succeeds Franziska H. Dacek, who will retire at the end of the year.
In her new role, Whelan will lead global strategic communications for Swagelok, including corporate communications, marketing communications, eBusiness, and knowledge management.
Whelan is a 16-year veteran of Swagelok, beginning in the supply chain group in 1995. She has held managerial and director-level positions within operations, customer service, supply chain, and engineering. Most recently, she was director, Global Technology Centers, and responsible for all facets of the company’s technology centers in the United States, Switzerland, India, China, and Japan.
Whelan graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in business. She also holds a law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
